What would you like normal to be?

The world has a habit of conforming to our collective expectations. So it might be a good idea for us to examine what we consider normal. If we expect the world to be a dark, dangerous, and violent place, we most certainly will get it. If people expected peace, prosperity & progress to be normal, they could get that, too.

I look at the world this way, and it seems to be in a state of aberation. There's nothing normal about it, but I would like it to be. That motivates me to do things, which will change that. As a child you might have had this notion of what was normal : that it was normal for a person to die quietly in their sleep, after a long & fulfilling life. Anything different would either be an accident or a tragedy.

The world is having wars, disease, poverty, & overpopulation. If people view that as normal, it most certainly will stay that way. If people view that as insanity, then they will think up ways to make it different. It all has to do with what people choose to accept as being normal. I remember when segregation was considered normal by most people. The Civil Rights movement changed that vision of what was normal, and for the most part, we don't have segregation anymore. What is left of segregation now, exists because some people, (a very few these days), still cling to it.

Don't let anybody tell you what normal is. Decide that for yourself. Don't let anybody tell you what other people believe, because they are in no better position than you are to know what that is. The more that people adopt the attitude that peace, prosperity, & progress are normal, the faster those things will become normal. Don't let the bullies & dream-killers rule the world with their nightmare versions of what is normal. Expose the nightmares for what they are : nightmares. Nightmares end when you wake up. Remind people of that, and give them a better vision of what normal is supposed to be. The world could wake up from the nightmare it is having, but that is not going to happen before people adopt a better Vision.

What would you like normal to be?

This reminds me of a quote from the ET Earth Mission team "The universe rearranges itself to accomodate your picture of reality." We all have a part in creating our world (co-creation). Once we accept the responsibility of that then we can change anything we want (usually that is, we can change our mind to accept or change what ever we need to).

My beliefs are basicly New Age/Buddhist/Metaphysical, and rather Pagan to say the least. Central to that sort of thinking, is the notion that Causality in internal : that the conditions we find in our personal lives, are reflections of what is going on inside our heads. Certainly, what goes on inside our heads, determines how we are going to percieve & relate to what is going on around us.

I've been trying to figure out how that same principle can be related to politics. If your personal environment is shaped by your attitudes & beliefs, then wouldn't what comes down in the world, be a reflection of what is going on in the minds of people all around the world? If people are afraid, then wouldn't they end up being dominated by bullies? Conversely, if people decide that they deserve to be treated decently in the world, and so should everybody else, then that faith will enable them to figure out how to make that happen instead.

      It seems reasonable to me...

        the norms.

hmmm... i have come to many conclusions on this topic. due to the ever expanding fields of realities, i'n not sure we can define "normal" without going into abnormal. (duality?)

thats a hard question jcl, lol. i'll have to ponder it a bit more. so far, i can only gauge my life, of which i don't consider any of it normal, but that is!

i was recently going over leary's 8 circuit model with a dialogue written by robert anton wilson. this was due in part to some of the other things i go over in my mind dealing with dna activation and adept initiation. i am dicerning due to my own experiences of what people offer other people in that way. maybe i'll post the thread over here since so much of it resonates with my "normal" life, much of which on the surface is not the norm.

as for politics, i find something of a touchy subject when i suggest that we are the governing bodies at very high and deep levels as well as on the surface. what appears from in front as unglory and unpatriotic may also serve as protection mechanisms and useful tools for our own differences and indifferences. as ugly as it can be, we may be in control and not even aware of it.
i did an activation with a friend last year. thats his profession, dna activations. from my seat, i was just getting the low down before i promoted his services as i am a self initiate, in a sense. i've embraced ordeals as tools for growth, and of course, i've reached out for insights and assistance from fellow human brothers and sisters. so through this activation, i mainly received a message as a confirmation and i would call that success. what he said was to view my outside world through my eyes, what i see there is my vision of what i feel is beauty from the inside, perceiving outward. and what a vision to behold. i live in one of the most beautiful places i can conceive of. and there i have it.

i also know someone who is in a constant state of being a victim, and no place is safe from this. it is very easy to see how people put themselves in the victim role and live that way, but truly, it isn't happening, but constucted by the perceiver. it's a bad habit even, much of which can be broken and realigned inot the true will of the spirit. like magic!

A few weeks ago, I was working in my garden, and the neighborhood kids were skateboarding. Suddenly Taylor's skateboard shot out from underneath her, and she landed on her butt real hard. I walked over, and asked, if she needed some ice, but she said she was OK. Then I asked her, if I should have caught it on videotape, and she said, "Yes!" We all laughed & went back to what we had been doing. That is what is normal where I live.

In Bowling for Columbine Micheal Moore pointed out that while actual crime was going down, that news reporting of violent crime, was going up. I think that is it in a nutshell. If you buy into the notion that a fear-filled world is normal, then you will get that, even if it isn't. What I do buy into, is the notion that problems have solutions, and that the normal process is to look for those solutions & implement them. What I buy into, is the notion that we can make this world quite the fine place for everybody to live in, and that the first step in that process, is to convince people that it is possible.

One of the essential teachings of the ancient Mystery Schools, was that your mind gravitates conditions into your life, that match what is going on inside your head.

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he"

Since I have been applying both Eastern & Western Metaphysical & Occult principles in my life since since 1967, I can attest that this is true. Your attitudes about Life generate the conditions that you will be dealing with.

Therefore, have faith that you can figure things out, and you will find solutions to problems. Realize that there is worthiness, and even nobility within yourself, and you will discover what those qualities really are. Accept that joy, beauty, and grace belong to all sentient beings, and you will discover ways of making those things a fact of life in this world.

Do not give fear power over you. You were made for courage. Do not listen to dream killers. All of the good things in this world, began with dreams. Whenever you have an insight into how things actually work, immediately make the effort to put it into practice.

Perfection is like life itself : always a work-in-progress. Do not be dismayed, if you screw up. Learn from the experience, adapt, and move on. This is how we create the future.

Most people basicly believe that Causality is out there, and not inside themselves. That belief precludes them from facing what is going on inside themselves, and figuring out how to deal with it. The notion that Causality is internal, changes all of that. At the very, very least, when a person adopts a positive attitude, they will certainly be able to pick up on anything good that happens to be going on.

However, I think that this can be taken much further. I'm saying that our attitudes create the conditions we are dealing with. In a sense any problems we are encountering in life are essentially reflections of stuff we have boiling up in our own minds. Change your attitude from a negative one, to a positive one, and either the problem will go away, OR, you will be able to figure out a way to deal with it.

Now I'm sure that that may sound pretty nutty to many people. However, you can make an experiment to see whether or not it is true. Try replacing negative attitudes with positive ones, and see what happens. You can even takes this a bit further. When you find yourself dealing with somebody full of negative attitudes, try imagining what they would be like, if they held positive attitudes instead. Now while you really can't make decisions for other people, you can give them permission, and excuses to be the very best of what they already have within themselves. Try it. What have you got to lose?
